How to Transfer Character.AI Bots to Janitor AI and Chub

We found no help article about importing Character.AI bots into Janitor AI, and we could not open Chub’s pages with an automated check, so we make no claim about Chub. The reliable method is to copy each bot’s text field by field. This page shows how the fields match and what to keep the same.

Exporting bots for creator-friendly chat platforms

Start by saving the text of each bot. The steps are in how to back up your characters. You need the name, the greeting, the description and the character definition, including any dialogue examples.

If you want a card file (a PNG picture with the text stored inside, or a JSON file), a browser extension can make one. Read what to check before you use one.

Importing Character.AI characters into Janitor AI

On October 21, 2026 we looked through the categories of Janitor AI’s help center: FAQ, User Guides, Creator Guides and Account Questions. We found no article about importing a character or a chat from Character.AI or from a card file. That does not prove that no such feature exists, only that its help center does not describe one. Check the site yourself.

What the help center does describe is the character creation page. Its fields are in the table, next to the Character.AI field you would copy from.

Character.AI fieldJanitorAI fieldNotes from the Janitor AI help article
NameCharacter Name (required)The name shown on the bot card. An optional Character Chat Name is the name the bot uses in chats.
GreetingInitial Message (required)The first message users see. It sets the tone, and the model tries to follow its pattern of speech and actions.
Tagline and description, shown to usersCharacter Bio (optional)For the user’s benefit only. It is not used by the bot itself.
Character definition and dialogue examplesPersonality (required)Most of what the bot uses in chats goes here. The help article suggests putting dialogue examples here too.
Scenario, if you wrote one in the definitionScenario (optional)The setting, the time period, or a short description of the character’s relationship to the user.
TagsCharacter TagsAt least a Limited or Limitless tag is required. A bot can have up to 10 tags.
AvatarBot Image (required)Images must follow the site’s guidelines, according to the help article.

Janitor AI’s help article recommends keeping a bot under 2,500 permanent tokens, because going past that “can run you the risk of quicker memory degradation within a chat.” Character.AI allows a definition of up to 32,000 characters, so a long definition may need to be shortened.

Uploading and hosting bots on Chub AI

We tried to read Chub’s pages on October 21, 2026, and the site answered an automated request with a block page. We did not work around it. So this guide makes no claim about what Chub accepts, how it imports characters, or what its rules are. Open chub.ai yourself and read its documentation and rules before you upload anything.
